How to fix

First steam out the dent out as much as possible and then access. A cymbal Vs. Mahogany likely isn’t going to steam out but might help. Any deep gashes might require some repair putty.

Then color match and painty. Ian drops lots of useful info in the first 5-6 ding kings videos

One thing that is trick about this is that the color is probably a combination of red pore filler and red lacquer toner coat.

If I was going to A game this, I would definitely try to mix up some pore filler where it is missing.

I also second what @Brockwaystrings says about steaming out what can be steamed out. DO you know how to do that with a paper towel and a soldering pencil. ?

Toner coat is just a coat of lacquer that has color in it. Usually translucent and meant to make a subtle change.

This is really pretty similar in concept.
