My name is Dan, and I’m an amplifieroholic.

Bought this one recently, as non-working amp, looking to up my amp tech chops. It’s clearly been worked on – looks like all but two eyelet board caps have been replaced, the original firecracker filter caps still in place, and a whole lot of weirdness with resistors throughout the amp.

Broken resistor leads coming of V4 pin 2 could very well be the proximate cause of non-functionality (the amp was apparently working shortly before it wasn’t).

I have a good schematic, and am in the process of tracing out the layout into DIYLC. Ultimately, though, I expect I’ll be wanting to rebuild it to original specs.

I realize this forum isn’t all that active, but hope Luke and others will chime in with thoughts.

    Dan

Hey Dan, that’s a good one to experiment on. Looks like maybe someone tried to update it. I think that eyelet board is original. Some of the layout looks original as well, but obviously many replaced parts.

I actually have a mostly original YRM-1 in the shop right now. Maybe we can hop on the loothalong and discuss it.

Thanks, Luke. I found a decent gut shot on the interwebs somewhere (probably Reverb). Along with the schematic, I was able to generate a layout (attached). With this in hand, it should be relatively easy to bring it back to stock.
