Just noticed this category was here. Since nobody has jumped in, I’ll be the first. We’ve had our Plek machine since last summer and did just over 300 Plek jobs in the first year. It has become a tremendous asset in our business. I’m happy to be a part of any discussion here. 🙂

This would be a good post for you and @chad-gerbe to connect on. Do we have any other plek users in the group ?

I don’t know about other Plek owners, but I know there are others that use them or have used them in shops they’ve worked in. I just wanted to post and make myself available for anyone that might have a question about anything Plek related. 🙂

I got to use the Plek at Taylor almost daily for a few years.
Sure do miss that thing, they are amazing!

There’s room for another one in Texas! 🙂 Are you friends with Danny Shoemaker (Straight Frets)? He owns the Plek machines in Austin and Houston. I think those are the only two in the state.

You know, I think I either talked with him briefly or we had an email exchange sometime last year. I reached out to him after (I think) he was interviewed on Bashkin’s PodCast. I think we’re both so busy we forgot to follow up 🙂 I’ve only been in business here for almost 2 years. If I get my shit together business wise 🙂 I might be able to swing it…I’ve got more work than I know what to do with for sure…

Give Danny a shout. Nice guy! He has the shop in Austin, then expanded to a Houston location recently. He is doing a monthly “Luthier Lecture “ in Houston. You would be great to present there!
