A while back, I remember seeing a headstock repair jig that had been #d printed in this forum. AS I dont have a printer or room for one, would anyone be willing to print me one of these jigs and I can pay you for your time and materials to do so? I would love to try out printing my own tools/Jigs, but I just dont have the time or free change to put repairs on the back burner to set up and learn a printer

I’ll ask @guelphguitarrepair if we can get this query into the next weekly email.

Can you link to the file? I have a 3D printer and could use this jig, would be happy to print one for myself and if successful, print one for you also

  • As described by the name this is an alignment jig. I have printed it. It does not have the ability to exert much pressure (if any) on 2 pieces of wood. Mike made this clear when he designed it. However, if you just need to hold (align) 2 pieces while your favorite epoxy needs time to cure it should be great. I have not used it yet.

He did have 2 more printable jigs/templates that went with this clamp to cut 2 very elaborate splines with a router. 2 splines routed through the back of the joint and 1 on either side and they kind of locked together like a puzzle. Not sure if those routing templates ever made it into the repository.
