There's a really cool book, not specifically about intonation but dives deeply into it, called Harmonic Experience by W.A Mathieu. Highly recommended. Cheapish used.
Here are some pictures that show the basic elements of a dome sander I made. Critical part is a lawn mower blade bearing/spindle. Cost $63. It is marked part # 607418 Blade spindle assembly. It has a tap for a .625-11 bolt on the side I put facing upward to bolt on the disk, and a shaft with a keyway on the bottom to attach to the big pulley. Another thing I forgot to add. The motor is mounted to a board connected to the chassis with a big ass hinge, so you can tension the belt with the spring
I attach my necks using the LMII/O'Brien jig. No matter the method, there is no guarantee that the neck block and edge of the rim at the top is truly perpendicular to the centerline of the guitar.

No way with my spool clamp method I could ever get everything clamped in time. Dude. That looks pretty cool? Have you thought about making an arch with an ACME screw to just throw center pressure on it? Like a book binding press etc?
