Bone Sled
The Bone Sled is a specialized tool designed by and for luthiers to simplify the process of thicknessing nut and saddle blanks. Precision is key when working with bone, and the Bone Sled offers a reliable way to achieve exact thicknesses every time. Whether you're a professional luthier or an enthusiastic DIYer, this tool makes sanding both nut and saddle blanks easier and more efficient.
The Bone Sled was developed to be clamped to a sander’s table, ensuring stability during use. It includes a spacer for perfect alignment and uses a clamping base for secure attachment. This design allows you to focus on the details of your work with confidence and precision.
By making the Bone Sled files available for download, we provide an affordable option for luthiers who prefer to 3D print their tools at home. If you don’t have access to a 3D printer, you can also purchase the full kit, which includes all printed parts and the necessary hardware.
