Our in-house machinist/guitar repairman TK (Tom Kelly) taught him this trick that he used for polishing the throat on a rubber carberator:

Tear a piece of a cotton t-shirt in a long strip, and it will roll itself up and if you grab one end it will twist into a string-like rope. Then apply the DMT Dia-Paste to the rag.

Pull it back and forth in a “shoe shine” motion, angling it up and down so that it hits those sharp edges of the hole.

That’s all there was to it — this string will not break again. Thanks, Blake!
