Beginner question: I am getting ready to compression fret for the first time and I am wondering if the correct sequence is to insert my large/standard frets until I get the desired measurements on the fretboard, then remove and glue them in. Seems like the right thing to do, but I wanted to make sure. thanks!

I have a friend who does it that way. He also blasts the barbs off with the fret barber to prevent fb erosion.

Maybe this is blasphemy on an older guitar, but I do my compression fret, get the neck where I want it, using a little bead watered down wood glue as more of a lubricant to aide the fret tang getting into the slot, then ill add a final bead of superglue to lock it all in.
