PRS Truss Rod Nut Size
Hey everyone,
I had a quick question on PRS truss rod nut sizes. It appears that the SE line and the USA line differ in their truss rod sizes but I can’t seem to nail down exactly what’s going on with them. I’ve had a couple of PRS guitars in the shop recently and I’m fairly sure I tried to adjust the truss rod on the SE with my 7mm, 8mm, and 5/16″ wrenches and none of them fit. Fortunately the customer had the truss rod wrench that was provided to them by PRS in their cases. Am I needing a 9/32″ wrench?
Here are a few measurements that may be useful.
7mm: 0.27559″
9/32″: 0.28125″
5/16″ (Gibson): 0.3125″
8mm: 0.31496″

I checked on Music Nomad’s very handy truss rod finder and it tells me the US models use a 5/16″ but the Korean-made instruments are 7mm.
