I’ve got a 1952 Gibson Southern Jumbo in for a neck reset. Any tips on protecting the acrylic inlays and binding when heating to loosen the fingerboard extension? I’m planning on using aluminum foil tape and brown tape to help insulate the inlays and end of board binding. I’m using Brown’s guitar factory heat caul for my heat source. Thanks

I use a 250 watt heat lamp and put aluminum foil over the inlays to reflect the light.
