    Ladies & Gentleman,

I’m at the stage where I should do the frets dressing on a new build but all the frets are seated correctly, with a tollerance on each fret of about 0.05mm. In fact once adjusted the nut and neck relief, every frets sound perfectly.

First time this happen in more than 10yr and I honestly don’t know what to do. Logic tell me that I should still crown/re-crown the frets. Or…what?

If it’s playing perfectly I see no reason to dress the frets, just a nice polish. I would, however, change your salutation to “ladies and gentlemen”.

I was taught that the factory crown isn’t perfect. Even if I don’t need a fret dressing, as said, I was asking in fact if perfectioning the crown is still necessary. But is just a supposition of mine since this scenario has never happened to me.

About the salute, isn’t something I did with intention to offend anyone.
