I’ve had some “only fair” experiences with the gluboost tint (especially with the pre-mixed Black Masterfill). It’s entirely possible that this is due to the user (i.e. me) rather than the product. Working on a headstock break recently, I was looking to essentially tint exposed wood black…the Gluboost is good but I find not very opaque (again, may be user error). Wondering when to use a wood dye/tint prior to Gluboost finish, and when/whether I should try to colour match with GB?

    Interested to hear others’ experiences…

    cheers,

    Steve.

The glueboost dyes are not opaque, so not user error. I usually do most of my touch up with a shellac binder, or lacquer if airbrushing, and then use FnF over the top. I have had luck with the gluboost dyes on translucent PRS colors.
