Headstock break suggestions ?
Hey all ! I have a nice Vigier superstrat with a nasty headstock break. It has been repaired once but a new break has formed, at a different place on the maple but at the same place on the carbon fiber inlay that didn’t adhere to whatever glue was used previously. I’d like to address that with epoxy but don’t know if it’s the best way to go. Any suggestions ? Cheers !

Yes it has ! On each side of the carbon fiber rod you can see two different breaks ! One has been glued and stayed glued (I don’t know what kind of glue though, I’ll try to figure it out), and the other one broke elsewhere.

Once it has been glued with anything other than hide glue, as far as I know, the only adhesive left is epoxy. I would use something like West 105. I’ve never met a hardware store epoxy I would trust in this situation.
This also looks like maybe it needs some reinforcement. Very unusual on a strat style neck

Interesting, how certain are you that it is a carbon strip?
On that subject, how would one test the material to confirm its carbon fiber?

These are built stock with a carbon rod ! This looks like a skunk stripe but there is no adjustment bolt or whatsoever 🙂
