  • Tips for Cleaning Pots in Semi-hollow without Removing Them?

I’m working on an old Westbury with unusual pots (each pot has a large case that the wires go into) that are scratchy. Aside from getting a pot cleaning cap, does anyone have any tips for cleaning scratchy pots in a semi-hollow from the top without removing them?

Is spraying some contact cleaner around the pot shafts (while trying to minimize the amount of cleaner that gets on the body) worth trying?

Well, guess I answered my own question. I got a rag, carefully sprayed some contact cleaner on the pot shafts, worked the wiper back and forth and it cleared up the scratches.

Looks like you solved your own question but for future reference I save strap jack outside covers, you can thread them on to the pot upside down and they work as a cup to hold your cleaning solution and let it gradually creep down the shaft.
