Call for Luthiers and Small Makers

Daymaker Music – Bainbridge Island, WA

Daymaker Music is opening this November in downtown Winslow in Bainbridge Island, and we’re inviting makers and luthiers who value craft, sustainability, and community to help us shape what customers see and hear when they walk in.

We’re looking for small makers, independent luthiers, and custom builders who want their instruments on a dedicated wall of our new retail shop.

    Who We Are

We are Paris Patt and Elizabeth Patt, formerly of Patt’s Guitar Repair and Instrument Conservation in Los Angeles, CA.

Daymaker Music is our new venture; a retail and repair shop built on our years of experience in professional luthiery and art conservation. We moved from Los Angeles to Bainbridge Island to grow roots in a creative, family-centered community and to be around our own family that lives there. Our mission is to make a space where music is about joy, learning, and connection; where the aspiring musician can get a foot in the door, and the seasoned professional can find a new way to express themselves through a new instrument.

We focus on high-quality new, vintage, and remanufactured instruments. Our own work includes the restoration and remanufacturing of old Harmony and Kay guitars—rebracing, neck resets, refrets—giving these instruments new life with skill and care. We also follow best practices for sustainability in sourcing and materials whenever possible.

    What We’re Looking For

We want to highlight individual luthiers and small shops rather than big-box brands or factory lines. We’re looking to stock a rotating, curated selection of:

    • Custom acoustics (Steel String and Nylon)

    • Electrics (including offsets, hollows, etc.)

    • Archtops

    • Mandolins or other folk instruments

    • Unique or experimental builds

    • Guitar Pedals

    Why Work With Us

    We will:

    • Feature your instruments prominently in-store and our website, including background information on your story/shop/history

    • Include build details for customers and any other salient information

    • Prioritize your work in our newsletter, marketing, and community events

    • Be transparent about consignment terms and/or flat pricing margins and negotiable on terms as our relationship develops

Our goal is to give players a place to discover these makers and their work, to feel a connection not only to the instrument but to the person who brought it to life. They are choosing to support the person who built it, to value skill and intention over automation. It is a direct connection between maker and player that supports small-scale craft and small businesses.

    Get in Touch

If you’re interested in working with us, we’d love to hear from you. Let’s talk about:

    • The kinds of instruments you make or want to make

    • Your story and what brought you to lutherie

    • Your approach to materials and building

    • Consignment or wholesale options

    • Any ideas for collaboration

Looks like a great opportunity for those of us who aren’t so established. Don’t have anything now to showcase, but maybe later this year
