About this Loothcut project

The individually adjustable Cam Clamps are 3.5” in diameter and are all interchangeable with smaller diameter Cams, ideal for fitting in those live edge crannies. Simply Lock in place and turn until desired inward pressure is achieved. Along with inward pressure there will be a bit of unwanted rotational pressure, I recommend using the clamps in pairs, rotating in opposite directions evenly to effectively cancel out those forces.

Each side is capable of utilizing a bow clamp to keep even the squirrelliest pieces of wood flat during glue up. Once lined up, the glue joint is secured using two hold down clamps, leaving the joint flat and in perfect view the entire process. These two hold down clamps are movable to a second set of slots closer to the centre for gluing up smaller panels like head plates, underlays and binding.

The unit is self contained and does not need to be bench mounted, but can be, just be sure that the table it is mounted to, is as flat as this fixture. Easily stored when not in use, easily redeployed when needed.

The Time Line may spit out errors, more specifically in the extrusions due to new geometry added, double click the highlighted features and select the new geometry.

CAM is roughly written, you will need to generate your own tool paths after adjustments and within the capabilities of your machine.

Bow Clamps are made by hand, templates, drill press and a router table.

Spacers for the hold down clamps are available to machine for increased capacity.
