001) The pickup cavity wasn’t deep enough from the factory, and consequently the action had to be much too high for comfortable playing with out the strings hitting the pole pieces.
003) . . . I could remove some wood from the bottom of the cavity.
004) I was able to lower the pickup, but then the strings hit the pickup cover.
005) I cut the cover in two and removed material from the bottom of the upper piece.
006). I glued the pieces back together with solvent-glue.
007) After delicate sanding and buffing the problem was solved!
