Great demo, thank you to all. Michael, when you say “lacquer”, you are referring to NC lacquer correct?
EM-6000 documentation uses the term “lacquer” to refer to their water-based product so I wanted to ask for clarity.
Hi Karl: Yes I am refering to Nitro laquer. I’m not familiar with water based lacquer so I don;t know how similar they behave.
Had a conversation with Jeff Weiss of Target Coatings yesterday. Jeff told me that their EM-6000 WB lacquer is compatible with epoxy (with any surface amines washed off).
Who would have thought that Silvertip epoxy is cheaper at StewMac than at amazon? That’s news worthy……
Michael,
Was the Silver Tip applied over bare wood (body)? I’ve re-watched but didn’t catch if the epoxy was over sealer, or not. I’m about to do a test panel, will do both ways, but wanted to ask NTL…
Hi Karl: I put the Silver Tip right on bare wood. You can put down a coat of sealer underneath but the epoxy itself is not just filling pores but also acts as a sealer.
