Court McClelland Resonation Guitars started the discussion Loose Truss Rod Nut in the forum Quick Questions 5 months ago
Hi Folks,
I’m new here so I appreciate any input upfront!
I had this guitar come through the shop and I’ve run up against something for the first time.
The neck needs a little relief but when I went to adjust the truss rod the screw was already completely loose thus I couldn’t perform that action.
I tightened it just enough to get the truss rod nut…

This is a simple but effective setup for cutting fret slots quickly and accurately. Ryobi table saw with a crosscut sled and saw blade with a kerf to match fret slot thickness. The sled has an indexing pin for using fret scale templates with notches. The blade alone sells for $163 on Stew Mac. I also have another blade for sale.

I have a Fender Jazz Bass Special in. Looking to upgrade some caps and resistor per client.
I found this “TBX”? tone pot inside. I don’t think I’ve encountered one with the additional lug on the back end. Any help as to if this is a TBX or similar and the functions of the pot?
Thanks!

Thanks Michael,
It may be a mechanical issue. My machine is about 12 years old and has seen a lot of use. I’ve only recently started making my own wood rosette rings. I used to buy them premade from LMI. I’ll chime in on the NextWave forum and see if I can resolve this.

Martin M36 Replacement Pickguard
My customer requested a guard that is more brown than red like the original. The guitar is probably an M38, although that may not make a difference.

Acrylic clear coat partially dissolved sunburst
Hi all,
I’m experiencing a problem with finishing a steel string guitar.
After spraying a sunburst with Colortone liquid stains diluted in thinner (which I left curing overnight), I sprayed a very thin coat of SprayMax 2K Clear coat (https://www.spraymax.com/en/products/product/clear-coats-and-spot-blender/2k-clear-coat/) and, to my horror, saw…
